Rules (Divisions 1- 6)

  • Recreational Soccer Rules
    These rules are approved by Cardiff, Encinitas, Rancho Youth Soccer and Solana Beach Soccer Clubs for use in all our Recreational games.

  • Rule Changes for 2009:
    1. Loaned/Borrowed player are not allowed (Cal South rule)
    2. Home team must change color in case of shirt clash
    3. Goalkick: "Any number of players on the kicking team may be inside the penalty area." Coaches may place additional defenders inside the penalty area.

  • Rule Clarifications
    On occasion, we see a need to clarify the interpretation of a rule or reiterate the importance of a rule:

    5. Dissent

Code of Conduct


Every coach, parent, and player needs to understand and adhere to the SBSC Code of Conduct. This document also describes how to resolve disputes if they arise during the season and cannot be resolved between a coach and the player or parent.
