Latest Referee News

Certified USSF Referees are assigned to all our home games (except Micro). Although we currently have enough referees, we are always looking for more. For more information see Becoming a USSF Referee.

Referee Certification
  • Referees for Recreational Soccer games must be USSF Grade 9 and at least two years older than the age level of the game. To get certified, attend a 1-day Cal South Grade 9 clinic.

  • To center-referee competitive matches, referees must be Grade 8. This is a more demanding 2-day course. See SDCSRA’s: How to Become a Referee for details.

Registered Referees

Cal South maintains a list of currently registered referees. Go to the Cal South Referee Committee - Registration page to see if your name is listed together with the correct grade. It can take several weeks from submitting your registration request to your name appearing on this website listing. For questions, email their Registrar Penny Rehn.
